Kotghar, known by the name of the historical state of Galkot, has been decorated. Kotghar has been preserved in order to preserve historical documents, attract tourists and continue its cultural significance.

When you reach this Kotghar where special pujas and fairs are held on Chaitedsain and Badadsain, you will get a glimpse of Chaubise state .

The temple of Kali has also been repaired near Kotghar, where most of Galkot Nagar can be seen. Here are two legs of Ajang and two khukuri . The municipality has also built a staircase leading to Kotghar. Path with railings looks attractive. 

The local youth were also interested in this campaign a few years ago. The ward office had included this Kotghar protection in its pride plan . The municipality has also invested and repaired it because it is connected with the existence of Kotghar town.

You can reach Kotghar by crossing the road for 6 km from Madhyapahari Lokmarg. The work of leveling the road leading to Kotghar has started. There is also a plan to blacken one km of the road here through the urban development project. Santosh Tamang, the site in-charge of Bageshwari Construction Services, said that the road will be paved within the current year.

Ward Chairman Pham Bahadur Khatri said that the city and other agencies are coordinating to organize the rest of the section.

Earlier, the road had been repaired at a cost of 5 million in partnership with the Gandaki provincial government and the city. Kotghar has been protected with an investment of 1.5 million by the municipality's 20 million, army's labor donation and other investments. Apart from that, the city has already spent 10 lakh rupees on the construction of stairs. 

10 lakh rupees was spent on the construction of stairs and other structures from the Ministry of Tourism of Gandaki Province . "Drains and culverts have been constructed in some sections of the road, and all the roads will be graded by next year," he said, "This place is also important from the point of view of tourism." From Kotghar, Galkot Valley, Ghumteko Hills, Daramkhola and some parts of Tarakhola Rural Municipality can also be seen. 

The army had painted the Kotghar. Currently, a flower garden has also been built here. The three hundred year old weapons used by the Galkote king are also preserved here . "All these items are antiquities, so a conservation plan has been made," said Pham Bahadur Khatri, chairman of Ward No. 3, "The fair held on Chaite Dasain shows the importance of this place."

Jitendradev Malla, the first king of Galkot, has a history of building this Kotghar. This state was independent till 1844 before unification of Nepal. Until 2017 Galkot was known as Rajouta. Until 2019, Galkot was an administrative unit as the headquarters. It was known as an independent state from ancient times to the period before the unification of Nepal (1844).

vs. Even till 2017, it remained a princely state. Until 2019, the main administrative units of Baglung district were in Galkot. Later the administrative units were shifted to Baglung Bazar. Former ward president Veerjung Bhandari said that Kotghar conservation and tourism promotion programs were introduced to reflect this legacy.

On Bada Dasain and Chaite Dasain, hundreds of devotees come to worship . Regular worship is done by the locals. 50 houses of Kotmaidan village are working to protect and worship by adoption. It is arranged to keep binoculars here and look everywhere. Arrangements have also been made for tourists to read the inscriptions and learn about the history of Galkot.
