In order to make the city orderly, excel in infrastructure and develop urban governance capacity, an 'Intensive Urban Development Project' has been launched in Galkot Municipality.

Under this project, the goal is to organize the development of the city, connect the local people affected by the development to income generation, and make the city agile by increasing its own governance capacity . The municipality has started that work in partnership with the Intensive Urban and Building Division project.

Under the first phase of the project, the road connecting Ward 1 and 2 has been made systematic and wide. There is also a goal to blacken that road within the current year . Apart from that, the chief administrative officer Ghanshyam Gautam said that the road to Kotghar will be paved, the construction of the building of Ward No. 3 for the development of urban government capacity and initiatives to increase the farmers' firm expansion, marketing and production capacity under the income generation program. The head of the project, Krishna Kumar Marhajan, said that this work was started with the goal of developing Galkot as an urban area and developing proper roads, drainage, and government capacity.
