The fire that has been raging for three days in the Chakla Forest area of Madhyabindu Municipality-10 of East Nawalparasi has not been brought under control.
Despite efforts to control the fire spread over 200 hectares, it could not be controlled due to dry weather and wind.
Shishir Lamsal, Information Officer of Division Forest Office Nawalpur, said that efforts are being made to control the fire by making a "fire line" to prevent the fire from spreading.
Mainaghat, Khayrsal Community Forest and National Forest area of Madhyabindu municipality have also caught fire. Local, community forest users and forest office teams are trying to put out the fire. Out of the forest fires in 10 places of the district, it has been brought under control in only 6 places.
Due to the fire, the atmosphere of eastern Nawalparasi is covered with smoke . There is a problem of burning eyes when walking outside due to smoke.
The medical superintendent of Madhyabindu Provincial Hospital, Nawalpur, said that due to the emission of fine particles and poisonous gas, respiratory problems occur. Ramesh Prasad Acharya said. To avoid this, doctors suggest not to go out except for essential work and to use mandatory masks and glasses.
