16-year-old Yunish Gurung of Arughat Rural Municipality-1, a student of SEE, died while swimming in Budhigandaki river. He was swept away by the river while swimming in Budhi Gandaki, Arughat Rural Municipality-4 Thumi on Wednesday evening.
DSP Indra Prasad Subedi of District Police Office Gorkha said that Gurung was found dead 1 km below the place where the river washed away when the police team of Arughat Police Station and Arkhet Police Station searched.
"When I went swimming with four/five friends, I was swept away by the river," he said. He said that he was swept away by the river while swimming in the Budhigandaki river near the football ground in Arkhet. Gurung, a student of Ganesh Mavi located in Arughat-1, is a student participating in SEE from Gandaki Mavi of Arkhet.
