An American tourist who came to visit Nepal was kidnapped from Pokhara. A 70-year-old woman who came to visit the Muktinath temple was kidnapped last Sunday. 37-year-old Sarita Lama, a resident of Nuwakot Belkotgarhi Municipality-3, has been arrested for her involvement in the incident.

The woman who was staying at the lakeside hotel in Pokhara was taken to Hetaunda by Lama. Lama, who had an old acquaintance with the woman, took her hostage and demanded a ransom of 300,000 euros. The victim reported this information to the American Embassy in Nepal. After the embassy informed on Tuesday, District Police Office Kaski, Central Bureau of Investigation and District Police Office Makwanpur started searching for the woman.

Information officer on behalf of District Police Office Kaski informed that the kidnapped American woman was rescued from Hetounda sub-metropolitan city-19 Newarpani. It has been revealed in the preliminary inquiry of the police that Lama led the victim to Hetaunda by offering to go to his house. He said that the woman involved in the

incident was extended by 7 days from the Kaski District Court on Wednesday and the investigation was continued. An investigation has been started against him in the case of kidnapping and body hostage.
