179 tuberculosis patients were found in eight months

179 tuberculosis patients have been found in Baglung only in 8 months of the current year. Dhorpatan municipality and Badigad rural municipality have the highest number of tuberculosis patients. There are 114 males and 67 females among those found.

On the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day, Provincial Public Health Office, Baglung has released this data. Tuberculosis inspector of the office, Devprakash Ghimire, said that since the screening and contact tracing of tuberculosis is yet to be done, the number of tuberculosis patients is expected to increase.

The government of Nepal, aiming to eradicate tuberculosis within the year 2035, has intensified the research campaign. He informed that since only 68 percent of the potential infected have been found, it is only possible to find solutions. Tuberculosis patients can infect up to 10 people in the mountains and up to 25 people in urban areas, so if the infected person is not detected and treated, the disease is more likely to spread.

This number was found by testing people who came in contact with different camps and suspected persons and tuberculosis patients. In the first phase, a campaign to make four local levels of the district free from tuberculosis has also been carried out. Galkot Municipality, Baglung Municipality, Kathekhola Rural Municipality and Badigad Rural Municipality have started this campaign.

The search engine has also been speeded up for the campaign. There is a provision that less than 1 person per ten million population should be sick every year to make a tuberculosis free area. Ghanshyam Sapkota, head of Public Health Office, informed that it will be possible only after the search operation is intensified and the treatment is in scope. Tuberculosis Day is also being celebrated on Monday with the slogan 'Yes, we will end tuberculosis'. Increasing the scope of

tests is likely to increase the number of infected people. 227 tuberculosis patients were found in 8 months of the previous year. This number has come as the search is yet to be done in Badigad Rural Municipality. The actual data of this disease will come only after testing the family of the infected person, even the citizens who are in contact with them.

Last year, 10 people in the district lost their lives due to tuberculosis. Lately, the search engine has also been increased. Since two machines have been installed within the district, the test has also become easier. "If the search is effective, it seems that the number of tuberculosis patients will increase," said Ghimire. He said that increasing is considered as an attempt to remedy.

The range of testing has also increased after the state-of-the-art machine was installed in Baglung. Before this, the compulsion to reach Kathmandu and Pokhara is gone. At present, Dhaulagiri Hospital has installed 'Expt XDR 10 Color' machine and Butiwang Hospital has installed 'DS 6 Color' machine. Tuberculosis can be detected by smear test in every health institution, but the disease that is not detected by smear test is detected by that machine.

According to Ghimire, lung tuberculosis can be detected directly from the stool, while tuberculosis affecting other parts of the body can only be detected with the help of a machine. According to the study, tuberculosis has been found in all organs except hair and nails in people of Nepal. Even though the number has increased, those machines have been helpful in taking the treatment to the scope of treatment. Tuberculosis can be cured if you take medicine regularly. When the complicated infection of tuberculosis increases due to leaving in the middle, more drugs and treatment methods are needed.
