A bicycle rally was held in Lamjung on Saturday to convey the message of water conservation. The participants have traveled about 40 km carrying placards with various messages about water conservation in Sailak.
On the day of World Water Day, Lamjung JCS-2025 took out a bicycle rally from Sundarbazar to the headquarters, passing through Benisihar and reaching Bhulbhu and again to Benisihar. Krishna Prasad Koirala, head of Sunderbazar municipality, started the rally with 50 participants.
President Arjun Gurung, Vice President Junamaya Thapa, Chief Administrative Officer Arjun Chapai and others welcomed in Marsyangdi Rural Municipality. President of Lamjung JCS-2025 Pratijang Tamang said that the bicycle rally was organized to increase public awareness for water conservation, glacier conservation, sustainable use of clean water, promotion of environment-friendly transportation.
According to Khushimaya Gurung, Executive Vice President of Lamjung JCS-2025, a press conference was organized 3 weeks ago and a bicycle rally was called to convey the message of water conservation. She said that the youths who were riding bicycles in Bensi Sahar participated in the rally, eager to convey the message of water conservation. According to him, an open marathon competition will be held on Chaitedsain day on 23rd Chait to wish for world peace.
The marathon competition of 26 kilometers will start from Bensisahar and pass through Ward No.-10 Pishill and pass through some parts of Marsyangdi Rural Municipality and then go through Bensisahar and reach Darbar in Bensisahar Municipality 3 villages, the organizers said.
