Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality has announced to give a cash prize of Rs 50,000 to the students who get 4.0 GPA in Secondary Education Examination (SEE) and Class 12 examination. According to the municipality, the students who get 4 GPA in the municipal level class 8 exam will be honored with 10,000 cash.
Rajendra Khanal, head of education branch of the rural municipality, said that the students of 8th, 10th and 12th classes who obtained results above 3.60 GPA in the annual examination of 2081 will be honored with cash. He said that SEE and Class 12 candidates who get 3.90 to 3.99 GPA will be honored with a prize of Rs 40,000 and Class 8 students with Rs 8,000.
30,000 will be given to SEE and Class 12 examinees who get 3.80 to 3.89 GPA and 6,000 to Class 8 examinees, 20,000 to SEE and Class 12 and 4,000 to Class 8 examinees. Similarly, SEE and class 12 candidates who get 3.60 to 3.69 GPA will be awarded Rs 10,000 and class 8 students will be awarded Rs 2,000.
Khanal, head of education branch of the rural municipality, said that this decision was made to encourage students. "According to the annual program of the municipality, we have announced the cash prize as a student incentive," he said. 199 examinees from Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality are participating in this year's SEE. Similarly, 210 students participated in the municipal level examination of class 8.
