Heavy snowfall has occurred in Chumanubri-1 Samagaon area under Manaslu region. Due to the snowfall, the tourists who came to Larkepass have stopped at Samdo. Some tourists have returned without Larke Pass. The Border Outpost (BOP) of the Armed Police Samdo said that there was up to three feet of snow in Samdo.
On Saturday morning, the armed police removed the frozen snow from the footpath area of Samdo area.
BOP Samdo Police Inspector Dharmaraj Pandit said that it has been snowing continuously since Friday. "It has been snowing since three/four days ago, it has been snowing continuously since yesterday (Friday)," he said. The armed police removed the snow from the footpaths in Samdo's settlement area for the convenience of locals and pedestrians on Saturday morning. "We have removed the snow from the main road in the settlement area," he said, "we have removed the snow from the road that goes to the water source and Chauri Goth for the convenience of the locals." He also said that the snowfall continued till Saturday evening.
As the snowfall continues, the armed police have also asked those on the Manaslu trek to be careful. It has also requested to call the hotline number 1114 of the armed police force in case of any problem while traveling in the Himalayan region and for information. Due to continuous snowfall, Samdo, Samagaon, Syala and other settlements of Chumanubri are covered with snow. People's life has been affected due to the increase in cold in the northern region along with the snowfall.
