Suman Khadka of Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-8 Baraphant wanted to bring home a bee after seeing a bee hive in the forest in May 2077. He managed to bring the bees of the forest to the hive of the house.
That same year, when he reached the field to harvest wheat, he heard the sound of a flock of bees flying. He made a plan to take the bees home and keep them. Collecting the bees that flew away after sprinkling the dust and taking them to the house. He learned from the elder of the village how to take the forest bees home.
'When I went to look for parrots, my friend informed me that he found another bee shell in the forest, so I brought it home,' he said, 'One after the other, adding more bee hives, it reached three.' Currently, the rural municipality and various organizations have also placed orders for the purchase of beehives with bees in his firm for distribution with grants.
Khadka, who started keeping bees from three hives, has built 140 bee hives in four years. "After bringing bees home in the first year, I got a lot of knowledge about beekeeping, and in the next year 2078, I realized that it is better to keep bees in a modern hive than in a closed hive," he said, "Then I expanded the bees in the modern hive." Apart from June, July, August, May and January, there are other months of honey season, he said. Khadka, a beekeeper of the Serena breed, also sells hives with bees. "Beehives with honey and bees are sold," he said. He sells each hive with bees for 10,000 rupees.

Neighbors are also shocked by the passion shown by 28-year-old Khadka in beekeeping. Khadka, who stopped thinking of going for foreign employment in 2075, is satisfied with the income from agricultural profession in the country. He was interested in agriculture from a young age and was injured in a motorcycle accident in Chitwan while he was returning from looking at agriculture and fishery business in October 2075. After that, he gave up his desire to go abroad and started farming.
'I was preparing to go abroad, but after the accident, there was no question of going abroad,' he said, 'I started raising buffaloes to do something in my country, I had raised up to 18 buffaloes, the milk produced became a problem in the market, there was a lot of suffering in raising buffaloes, then I focused on beekeeping.'
He said that beekeeping earns up to one lakh per month. "You have to take care of the bees, the birds cause pain, the baby rots, there is also a problem with the queen production," he said. "Corn husks are also suitable for bees to graze, I am planning to sow rudhilo seeds in the barren land of this area," he said.
He has registered 'Kaizele Beekeeper Firm' by keeping bees and has also taken training in this regard. Now he plans to build a bee resource center and sell up to 1,000 hives annually. He now also gives training on beekeeping. His father Krishna Bahadur Khadka has also helped him in beekeeping.
'Birds come, sometimes beehives give trouble, hives should be inspected,' he said, 'sometimes the beehives are released, but we didn't stop monitoring.' He told that 60 hives with bees have been ordered in Siranchowk, 80 in Vimsen Thapa, 120 in Shahid Lakhan, and 80 hives with bees from the Social Development Office. "I am preparing to sell only 500 hives this season," he said. He said that only 2 million has been invested for beekeeping.
