43 lakhs collected in Pokhara to build Khoimbo

42 lakh 92 thousand 232 rupees have been collected in Pokhara to build Khoimbo in Khwalasothar Rural Municipality 4, Bhujung of Lamjung.

Yumpo Tamu Pye Lhu Sangh Bhujung Unit Committee organized a 4-day cultural program in Pokhara to build Khoimbo. Bhujungbasi performed Lopunmukh Ghantu, Krishnacharitra, dance of youth club in Gurung community to collect donations.  According to Brij Bahadur Gurung, chairman of

committee and chairman of Yumpo Khoimbo construction committee, only 10 lakh 57 thousand 724 rupees were collected in the cultural program organized in Falina Khoimbo Pokhara on the last day on Tuesday.

On the first day on the 26th, a cultural program organized at Bhujung Yumpo Tamu Society, Pokhara collected 23 lakh 27 thousand 511 rupees. On the second day, 27,000 rupees were collected in a program organized in Pasgaon Tamu society. On the third day, on the 28th, 6 lakh 46 thousand 995 rupees were collected in the program held at Tamu family in Ponchoko.

In Pokhara, Lamjung-Pokhara-centered Tamu societies, Tamu Pye Lhu Sangh, Pokhara-affiliated regional societies, and various associations-affiliated committees have helped, President Gurung said.

Khoimbo is considered as a place to learn and teach Gurung priests such as Ghyabre, Pacyu, Lam and others who believe in Bon religion, the main religion of the Gurung people. According to Tul Bahadur Gurung, secretary of the committee, Yumpo Khoimbo is currently being constructed on about 10 annas of Nauju Danda above Bhujung village. 

Yumpo Khoyabo Construction Committee purchased 4 annas 2 paisa land and the remaining land was donated by Amarjung Gurung, Tekensingh Gurung and Bindari Gurung.

It is estimated that a budget of 50 million rupees will be required for the construction of Khoimbo, which has been started in the current financial year. For this, various organizations and individuals are conducting a donation collection campaign, according to the committee. 

Kholasothar rural municipality has allocated 1.5 lakhs and the ward office has allocated 5 lakhs for the construction of Khoimbo.
