A queue of vehicles has formed due to a vehicle skidding in East Nawalparasi under the East-West highway. During the expansion of the Butwal Narayangarh road section, the road is slippery and the vehicles slip because of the water released during the cutting of the culverts and hills.

Janak Banjara, Chief of District Traffic Police Office Nawalpur, said that traffic was affected when large and cargo vehicles slipped on uphill and downhill roads.

Banjara said that since large and cargo vehicles could not go uphill, passenger vehicles and small vehicles also had to get stuck.

Passenger Bhagwati Subedi complained that she had to stay in the traffic jam for more than 2 hours to cross a distance of about 7 km from Dumkibas in Downe section to Downe temple. Humpipe is being placed in the diversion of the culvert construction site to smooth the road.
