The construction work of Navagraha Temple under construction in Arjunchoupari rural municipality-1 of Syangja has reached its final stage. Nepal's first Navagraha temple is being prepared to be held from 6th to 14th of Falgun on the occasion of Mahashivratri. Prakash Tiwari, president of the municipality, said that 1 crore 25 lakh lamps will be lit on that occasion.

According to Tiwari, the Navagraha temple was built to perform rituals on this occasion as the time of Mahakumbh, which falls in 144 years, is very powerful and sacred. According to him, worship is done by keeping the image of Navagraha on one side in different Shaktipethas, but the Navagraha temple was built according to the suggestions of accomplished yogis in the country and abroad.

At present, the temple of Navagraha (nine celestial bodies) is only in Chitrasal hill in Assam, India . Tiwari claims that the temple under construction is different from that of Assam. The main pillar of the temple will be octagonal in shape . 27 feet up  Darshan of the tall cosmic idol that has returned can be done only on Ganesha Chaturshi every year.

In the middle of the hexagon built with the Navagraha temple, a five-faced Shivlinga like Pashupatinath is placed and in the other corners, the idols of Ganesha, Kuldevata, Lakshmi, Kalabhairava, Hanuman and Durga Bhavani are placed . After entering from one place of the temple, the Navagraha temple, which is in 9 chakras, is made in such a way that one can exit only after worshiping 9 times with parikrama. .

There are symbols of nine planets in 13 feet on the navabhuj pillar and there are 14 feet pillars on it. It is said that the temple will open only on Saturday. Bharat Pokharel, chairman of the temple management committee, said that in one of the 9 cycles, worship can be done on other days as well. According to him, there is an image of the solar system (planet) facing the sun at the top of the pillar.

Municipality President Tiwari believes that the construction of the temple, which is about 52 km from Pokhara, the capital of Gandaki province, will help in promoting local tourism. He said that the Navagraha temple was built according to the plan to make the municipality a hub of religious tourism.
