Thousands of pilgrims from Nepal and India have gathered in Trivenidham for the Maghe Aunshi Mela.
The day before the fair, thousands of pilgrims from Nepal and India crowded into the monastery of Triveni from Tuesday evening.
The tradition of pilgrims coming here to bathe in the Narayani river in Trivenidham and pay homage to their ancestors on the occasion of Aunshi is centuries old. Jhapindreshwar Bhusal, Executive Director of Triveni Gajendramoksha Area Development Committee informed that all the preparations for the fair have been completed and attention has been paid to the facilities of the devotees by mobilizing the organizations here.
Centuries ago, on the occasion of Maghe Aunshi, there is a throng of devotees who take bath and donate here. . Devotees from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, Patna in India come to Trivenidham, the confluence of Swarnabhadra, Purnabhadra and Narayani rivers. Chief District Officer of East Nawalparasi Arun Pokharel informed that around 2000 security personnel have been mobilized for Triveni Mela management.
He told that special attention has been given to the security and accommodation management of the devotees coming to the fair. He said that it is estimated that more than 2 lakh devotees will come to Triveni Dham this time. Devotees have come to more than 5 dozen monasteries in Triveni and have been keeping awake since Tuesday night by chanting hymns.
