Road quality measuring machine in Bensi Sahar

Benisahar municipality has started using core cutting machine to measure the quality of development construction including roads.

After finding out the amount of raw materials used in development construction, the municipality has started using core cutting machines on the slopes, black sheets and drains of the completed roads to measure its quality.

Gumansingh Aryal, Head of Benisahar Municipality, said that the slope and blacked roads were/are not according to the estimate and the core cutting test has been started to measure the quality. While giving payment for completed projects, we have started using machines to check if it is according to the estimate. By doing this, construction companies, businessmen and consumer committees cannot increase or decrease the use of raw materials," he said.

In the position of deputy head of the municipality, Gurung said that the test work was done with the core cutting machine of the roads that have been completed in Bensi Sahar Municipality-3, 8, 10 and other wards. After the completion of the project, we have done monitoring. During inspection, engineers have measured the quality using machines. If the quality is not maintained, we have asked them to maintain the quality," she said.

Benisahar municipality has brought a core cutting machine by spending about 3.5 lakh rupees. Chetanath Aryal, chief administrative officer of the municipality, expressed his belief that the road construction work will be done according to the STimate after starting the tests using the core cutting machine.

According to Municipal Engineer Prakash Paudel, the quantity and quality of bitumen of slope and asphalt road, thickness of asphalt, compaction, and mixture of construction materials can be tested by core cutting machine.

According to him, a 4-inch round cylinder is fitted in the machine. After the generator gives power, the cylinder enters the slope or black sheet. After reaching the bottom, the sample extracted by it is measured in different ways and the quality is found out.

Sudeep Pandey, Lab Technician of Infrastructure Development Office, Lamjung, said that for this work done by the municipality, the technicians went to the field and were informed about the test method.
