Dordi Rural Municipality of Lamjung has put glass crusher machine into operation to process waste and hazardous glass.
Village chairman Yuvraj Adhikari said that to reduce the risk caused by scattered glass bottles and to properly manage the glass, the village council has put into operation a glass washing machine.
According to him, the municipality managed the budget and brought the glass crusher machine into operation. Dordi Rural Municipality 4 Nauthar Sera's Rural Municipality has a machine in the common facilities center built near the sports field. According to
chief administrative officer Hemraj Kafle, the machine has been placed in the common facilities center building built by the rural municipality. He said that the machine purchased through Machine Hub Nepal will be put into operation at least 3-4 days a month in the initial days. He said that the machine will be operated by hiring workers as per the requirement.
"On the first day, the municipality will hire a tractor and collect glass bottles and pieces". Locals have been asked to manage lead. Locals will also bring them to the collection center," he said. He said that lead companies will bring lead dust for reuse.
'We have told you not to use lead material as much as possible . We have asked them to reuse the used lead in the village and to keep the lead products that cannot be reused in a safe manner, he said, "The lead that needs to be thrown away will be collected and made into dust". It is our effort to reduce lead waste, reduce risk, and make the environment clean and tidy," he said.
