Lamjung police have arrested a young man who pretended to be an employee of Nepal Electricity Authority Regional Office Pokhara.
A police team under the command of Asai Krishna Bishwakarma from District Police Office Lamjung arrested Amrit Kumal, 24, resident of 24 Lekhnath, Pokhara Metropolitan City, Kaski while he was hiding.
In Khwalasothar Rural Municipality 8, Ghamrang, Lamjung, around 8 am on Thursday morning, the police received information that he was an employee of the Nepal Electricity Authority regional office, that he had come to collect the money for the electricity meter deposit, showed the authority's stamp and cash receipt, and fled after being questioned by the locals. District Police Chief DSP Nishant Srivastava said that the operation was carried out.
During the search, Kumal was arrested along with written documents and stamp pads at around 1 pm on Thursday from Benisihar municipality 8, Benisihar police said.
Kumal has been investigated by the Lamjung District Court on Friday for the 7th day, police said.
