After years of rotting in the forest, recently, local entrepreneurs have started to produce it in the form of Gundruk. This product has also started to find the market. Consumers who were not interested in the beginning have started to buy in search of Banko's Gundruk. The leftovers found in the Lekali forest have become a source of income for local farmers.
Jaimini Municipality- 3 Farmers of Damek have been making Gundruk of Banko for the last three years and bringing it to the market. Banko is found in the Lekali forest here. Banko, which is found on the ground with large leaves like greens, is now also being used in the kitchen of Sahariya Hotel. Chantyal, the local border, said that the left hand was given as a gift at the public event in the
village. The gift given in this way has also helped in marketing the farmers' products . Gundruk has also started to get the market after supporting the labeling and packaging of Jaimini Nagarpalil.
Chantyal Ama Group of Damek is going to produce Banko Gundruk by listing it as an agricultural group. 145 women here are going to make Gundruk professional by sitting in this group. "Now it is being sold at a low price, later it will become commercial," said local nanny Kala Chantyal, "Even the cowherds did not eat it and threw it away, now it is being used." After the group made it commercial, Banko's gundruk was used not only by the youth of the village, but also as a dish in hotels as far as the headquarters and Pokhara.
Lately, it is found in abundance in the hotels of the district headquarters, but it has also started to be found in Pokhara. It is also used to eat in the form of pickles and jhols. Savita Acharya, a local hotelier, said, ``There are many people who eat Sandher as a pickle,'' said Savita Acharya.
After financial support from the municipality, the trainer who came through the small enterprise program supported the farmers here in making gundruk and putting labels. For that, after drying and packing at the specified temperature, it can be used for 6 to 9 months .
Gundruk The Chantyal Women's Group and the Sidd Barah Agricultural Group here have invested themselves in the production . Agricultural technician Rabindra Sharma said that farmers have started getting good income from Banko. The group has also started making and selling Sisno powder.
Krishi Gyan Kendra also supported farmers in measuring the quality of their products. After it started to be produced commercially, the community forest here has managed to pick the leaves twice a year for 15/15 days . Jaimini Ward No. 500 kg gundruk is produced only in 3 . Farmers sell it for 50 rupees per 100 grams.
