61.71 percent votes were cast in the by-election for the post of ward chairman in Gorkha Municipality-5.

According to the Chief Electoral Officer's office, 1373 votes were cast, including 757 women and 616 men. There were 2,225 voters in Gorkha-5 for the by-election. Ballot boxes are being brought to the office of the Chief Election Officer established in the ward office of Gorkha Municipality-5. 

Chief Electoral Officer Shiv Bahadur Ranabhat said that after the delivery of the ballot boxes, preparations for the counting of votes are underway. "We are preparing to start the counting of votes after discussing with the party representatives," he said. The counting place has been prepared at the ward office of ward number 5.  There are 9 candidates in the

by-election. Gorakhkali Basic School Swara and Shivshakti Basic School Amrai were two polling stations. 

After the death of elected ward president Khil Bahadur Rana in 2079, the by-election was held in that ward.
