The Nepal Teachers Federation has demanded the immediate ban of the promotional song 'Math Sikane Bhade...' from the film 'Masterni'. Issuing a statement on Friday, the Teachers Federation has urged that the song not be used in the film.
'The recently released song of the Nepali film 'Masterni', which contains inappropriate words and expressions targeting female teachers, has seriously attacked the dignity of teachers and the profession of mathematics,' said the statement issued jointly by Teachers Federation President Laxmikishore Subedi and General Secretary Tula Bahadur Thapa. 'We warn that if the song continues, the film producer and the artists associated with it will be responsible for the uncomfortable consequences that may arise from it.'
The song, which was released last Tuesday as a promotional material for the film 'Masterni', which is set to be released on 5th Bhadra, has been called a 'dhoora that has two meanings' by most people, including the public. But Priyanka Karki, who is also the producer and artist of the film, has requested that the song be used only for entertainment.
The song, which has lyrics and music by Durgesh Thapa, also features Thapa's vocals. He has sung a duet with Babina Kiranti. Similarly, the song also features Priyanka Karki, Durgesh Thapa, Aryan Sigdel, and Ayushman Joshi.
