The Film Development Board is set to participate in the 79th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. The board has informed that a Nepali stall (booth) will also be set up at the festival in collaboration with the Tourism Board.

The board is going to formally participate on behalf of Nepal with the aim of promoting Nepal's film sector, international cooperation and providing access to Nepali films and filmmakers at the global level, said Board Chairman Dinesh DC. '

'We are going to set up a stall with the aim of branding the Nepali film industry. Filmmakers going to this festival from Nepal will be able to use this booth to promote their films,' DC said.

It is said that filmmakers will be able to showcase and promote their films, posters, trailers and other promotional materials to international audiences, distributors and collaborators through this stall of the board. The board has also called for coordination from filmmakers who want to use this stall. The festival will be held in Cannes, France from May 12 to 23. DC also claimed that this is the first time the board has participated in Cannes in this way. 'Earlier, Meen Bham and Deepak Rauniyar have brought Nepali films to such a festival in their own way.' However, this is the first time the board is setting up a booth like this in Cannes,' he said. Earlier, the board had set up a stall at the Goa Film Festival. This year, the board was also supposed to set up a stall in Busan, but due to the Gen-G movement, the board was unable to represent the film.'
