Popular folk hymn singer Tekraj Pokharel has come to the audience with a new hymn, 'Shri Swasthani Devi Timi'.
The bhajan, which was released on the YouTube channel of Kohinoor Media Pvt. Ltd. on the occasion of the inauguration of Shree Swasthani Vratatakatha, praises Shri Swasthani Mata and is sung in the local folk rhythm of Gandaki (central western Nepal).
The music and composition of the bhajan, which has lyrics by Dhanakala Poudel, was done by singer Pokharel and his group. Hari Prasad Pokharel, Saru Neupane Pokharel, Kaushila Pokharel, Bhakti Ram Pokharel and others have lent their voices to the bhajan. The dance direction of the bhajan is by Pramita Pokharel.
Tekraj, who has been continuously engaged in singing bhajans in his local dialect since childhood, has been recording and releasing his bhajans for a long time. Earlier, his bhajans including 'Ringdai Ghumdai,' 'Banshuri Harayo Mero,' 'Jai Harhar Ganga,' and 'Durga Bhajan' have been released. He is the general secretary of the 'National Folk Bhajan Chudka Culture Preservation Foundation Bagmati Province' and his 'Hariman Pancha Aarti' is the first highly popular recorded bhajan.
