Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel has urged the lawmakers participating in the meeting of the Legislative Management Committee under the National Assembly held today to watch Nepali films. Committee chair Tulsa Kumari Dahal agreed to the minister's proposal.
During the theoretical discussion on the bill, Minister Kharel proposed to watch the film while arguing that the film-related law should be implemented well.
'We need to amend, modify, words, sentences are important on paper. But why don't the Speaker take the initiative and both the government and the MPs go and watch the film? Let's watch the film. By watching it, you will know what the hall is like, you will know about the filmmakers, you will know about the business. You will know about the popcorn seller, you will know about the hero and heroine,' Minister Kharel said, 'You will know the story, you will know the technology.'
Minister Kharel said that the old films 'Aama', 'Kumari', along with the currently showing 'Paraan' and 'Jari 2', should also be watched. 'From Aama, Kumari to Maitighar and up to now, film history should not be forgotten,' Kharel said.
Committee Chair Dahal said that everyone should work together to develop the Nepali film sector. 'The honorable members who are ready to discuss the bill are here, if the environment is created, we will agree on it,' she said.
