The 14th 'European Film Festival Nepal 2025' is scheduled to be held. 25 films will be screened at the festival, which will be held from Kartik 28 to 30.
Of the 25 films to be screened at the festival, 10 are European, and 6 are short films nominated for the UK BAFTA award. Nine films have been selected from Nepal. The films to be screened at the festival raise issues of identity, belonging, resistance and transformation, the organizers said in a statement.
This edition will feature Banjo from Portugal, ‘Jevida’ from Finland, ‘Happy’ from Austria, ‘Without Air’ from Hungary and ‘The Girl from Tomorrow’ from France and Italy. The BAFTA nominees include ‘Wonder to Wonder’, ‘Rock Paper Scissors’, ‘Mugs Christmas’, ‘Milk’ and ‘Adios’.
The Nepali entries include ‘What Grows in Thari Mile’s Vegetable Garden’, ‘Chandani’, ‘Abyss and Eternal Kinship’ etc. ‘
The festival is organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Nepal in collaboration with the embassies and cultural institutions representing the European Union member states in Kathmandu and Delhi, including France, Germany and Finland, and the British Council and UNESCO.
It is stated that the films in the festival can be viewed free of charge. Interactive discussions and debates on various topics will be held during the festival.
