Nominated in 14 music categories, all highly competitive. Also added this year are hip-hop and R&B genres. This is why the audience as well as the nominees are eagerly waiting for the 'National Music Awards (NMA) 2081'. The awards are being distributed at a ceremony organized by Radio Kantipur at the Godavari Sunrise Convention Center next Saturday.

The competition in the 'People's Choice Awards' this year is tough. Many popular songs and authors are included in this category. 'A My Re' from 'Kum: Sagar and the Khwap Band' was loved by the audience. The interlude of this song, 'Hawako Lahar Saawan', which has been watched by more than 1.75 million people on YouTube, has become 'viral' on social media. Now this song is in competition with the song 'Bardli' sung by Sushant KC and Indrakala Rai.

You don't go anywhere to see the popularity of 'Bardli', you hear the Hindi remake of 'T-Series' based on this song. More than 93.9 million viewers have watched this song on YouTube. Fans made videos, reels and TikToks for months on this song.

Durgesh Thapa's 'Dushman' could not be discussed. Durgesh was nominated for the People's Choice Award with this song in competition with Kum and Sushant. After the release of this song, which has been watched by more than 100 million people on YouTube, Durgesh went to 30/35 songs in a month by holding fairs and concerts. The term "Dushman Hereko Hereai" is still a hit.

Another song nominated in this category is 'Ma Ta Dhalen Dhalen'. The song 'Ma Ta Dhalen Dhalen' which has been watched by more than 90 million people on YouTube, started to resonate at every party/festival since its release. This song is sung by Shanta Rani Pariyar. "Rukum Makot" from the Nepali film "Khusma" which has been watched by more than 130 million people on YouTube has also been selected for competition in this category.

The song is penned by Surendra Rana and has the voice of Shantisree Periyar and SD Yogi. In particular, this song was more popular than the film. Who will win the award? That is in the hands of the audience.

Who will win among the nominees in this category will be decided by audience votes. The organizer has opened the voting. Viewers will be able to vote for their favorite song through Iseva. "It's been a week since voting was opened, fans will be able to vote till Friday," said Pawan Acharya, station manager of Radio Kantipur.  It seems that there will be equally tough competition in other genres of

NMA. Like – pop genre. The pop genre itself is popular music. NMA has always presented awards for 'Best Pop Singer' and 'Best Pop Female Singer'. Sushant KC, Sujan Chapagain, Sajjanraj Vaidya, John Chamling Rai and Swapn Suman are nominated for 'Best Pop Singer'. Their songs are equally popular. Sushant's 'Bardli' became a fun song. Sujan's 'Eklai Bhe Ni' is lonely, John's 'Farkann Hola' is equally popular among the youth. Swapn's 'Timro Bolima' and Sajjan's 'Ekadeshma' are equally preferred songs.  There is also competition to turn up the heat towards

pop singers. Aastha Tamang Maske from 'Aadha', Rachna Dahal from 'Asambhava', Trishala Gurung from 'Beech Vives', Samriddhi Rai from 'Buzhchu Tekehe' and Saja Chaulagai from 'Sathi Tu Mero' have been nominated to compete in this category.  The competition in the

'best band' category is also interesting. Kum's 'A My Re' has been shortlisted for the band. Competing in this category are Swar and John Chamling Rai, Rockheads, Avaya and The Steve Engines and Poorna Rai and Brothers. 'Badal Sari' by Swar and John Chamling Rai, 'Bhavna' by Rockheads, 'Sadhainbhari' by Abhaya's band and 'Sparsh Sangeet' by Poorna Rai and brothers are the nominated songs.  The background music of

films is also fiercely competitive. Singer Roman Bajracharya has been nominated for 'Best Playback Singer' for the top song from the film 'FurkyFurky'. Along with Roman, Sanoop Poudel, Ashish Aviral, SD Yogi and Nishan Bhattarai are competing. Sanup Poudel has been nominated for the song 'Jhyalko' from 'Mansara', while Ashish Aviral is in the competition for his song 'Ma ta fan hai' from 'Pitamber'.

Similarly, SD Yogi is nominated for 'Rukum Makot' from 'Khusma'. Nishan Bhattarai has been selected in this category for the song 'Yo Maya Banjana Ko Ho' from 'Chakka Panja 5'. This song is written by Krishnahari Baral.

review officer, Jhuma Limbu, Sunita Thegim, Shantisree Periyar and Salina Bick are competing for 'Best Playback Singer'. Reviews of 'Buzhinan Male' from 'Boksi Ko Ghar' were selected in this category and Jhuma Limbu from 'Jhyalko' from 'Mansara'. Similarly, Sunita Thegim has been nominated for the song 'Rai Maila' from 'Gaon Inya Bato'.
