'Butterfly Bhutan' wins 'ISMOD Best Mountain Film' at KIMF

Sonam Yangjom's 'Butterfly Bhutan' won the ISMOD Best Mountain Film Award at the International Mountain Film Festival (KIMF). While 'After the Snowmelt' won the best feature documentary, Dominic Signer's 'Winter Taiga' won the best short documentary (documentary) award.

Manohar K. from India won the 'KU Emerging Filmmaker' award which was added this year. He received this award from 'Bird of a Different Feather'. The 'Best Mountaineering and Exploration Film Award' was won by Ashima directed by Kenji Tsukomoto. Feline Gerhardt's 'Minus 103 Degrees' received a 'Special Mention' in the same category . In the

international category, Pham Noch Lan's Q Lee Never Cry won the 'Best Feature Film Fiction Award' while Yakup Tekintanjak's 'Mori' won the Best Short Fiction . Under

Nepal Panorama, 'Songs of Love and Hate' directed by Saurabh Ghimire won the Best Nepali Fiction Film Award . At the 74th Berlin International Film Festival, the film received a 'Special Mention' for Generation. The film is produced by Minso Limbu and Meen Bham .

Similarly, "Chau" directed by Saja Sunuwar won the best Nepali documentary, while "Family Man" by Australian filmmaker Kalni Gakan won the "Audience Award".

This year, Sushmita Bogti received production support worth 3 lakh 50 thousand rupees from the Shanta Nepali Production Award for the live pitch of 'Kat Katha'. Similarly, Shreya Singh won Rs 1 lakh 50 thousand in cash from the British Council award, while Akriti Shrestha won Rs 1 lakh in cash from the Goethe Centrum award.

The 22nd edition of KIMF, which started in Kathmandu from May 14 with the slogan 'Khandit Awaaz, Nirman Bhashya', was concluded on Sunday . More than 65 films from 30 countries were screened at the festival.
