The Patan High Court has ordered to stop the publicity of the film 'Laaj Sharanam' which is about to be released. With the order of the court, the production team has stopped all the promotions of the film.
Former minister Aftaw Alam had filed a case saying that he acted in the film in a way that matched his face. While hearing his case on Tuesday, the joint bench of Justices Lal Bahadur Kuwar and Hemant Rawal gave an interim order to prevent the film from being publicized on social media without the permission of the Central Film Screening Committee.
"In accordance with Rule 42(3) of the High Court Rules, 2073, an interim order has been issued in the name of the respondents to prohibit the advertisement of the proposed movie 'Laaj Sharanam' in which the character has acted in a way that matches the face and cover of the petitioner on social media and other public media and the related posters should not be published/broadcasted," the interim order said. Former minister Alam filed a lawsuit saying that the avatar of the character played by actor Sitaram Kattel in the
movie matched his cover perfectly.
The trailer of the film produced by J. P. Creason was released today. Now all publicity work has been stopped before the Censor Board gives permission.
