Thaha Film Festival will be held from Sunday

The second edition of Thaha Film Festival will be held from Sunday 28th January to Tuesday 1st January. A total of 20 films including short films, feature films and documentaries will be screened.

According to the organizer Thaha Kala Kendra, a total of 20 films were selected from the 46 films submitted for participation in the festival. 

In this festival, which will be held at Bajbarahi in Thaha Municipality of Makwanpur, feature films such as 'Pakheta', 'Tulki', 'Bato', 'Lakhe', 'Satidevi', 'Modiveni' and short films, 'Belly', 'Antawarta', 'The Rope of Hope', 'Direction', 'Two Hundred Rupees', 'Khil' and others. Similarly, there are 'Snow Leopard', 'Girls Rewriting Destiny' among other documentaries. Along with the film exhibition, the festival is discussing contemporary topics like 'Film Review' and 'Diversity of Nepali Cinema. 

Known as a tourist destination and culturally rich, Thaha municipality is a preferred location for film shooting. This festival, which is being organized with the slogan 'Movies for Tourism', also aims to connect domestic tourism through films.

festival coordinator Pramodkrishna Joshi says, 'Despite being close to cities like Kathmandu and Hetaunda, there is no cinema hall operating in Thaha Municipality so far. Therefore, this festival has been organized targeting the audience here who cannot easily watch movies.' He adds, 'It is our aim that domestic tourism also thrives on the pretext of watching movies.'
