It has been recommended to add four new polling stations in Dadeldhura, targeting the upcoming House of Representatives elections to be held on Falgun 21.
In the 2079 BS elections, there were 139 polling stations and 101 polling stations, and the District Election Office, Dadeldhura, has sent a proposal to the Election Commission to remove one old polling station and add four new ones.
According to the District Election Office, preparations are underway to remove the Deval Secondary School Devaldivyapur polling station in Ajaymeru Rural Municipality-6 and set up new polling stations in Bhumiraj Abi Pipal Chautara and Dageshwori Abi Kanakot.
Similarly, it has been recommended to set up one more polling station in Bhumiraj Abi Chaurbanni in Navadurga Rural Municipality-5 and another new polling station in Ashigram Abi Raunakot in Ganyapadhura Rural Municipality-1.
Meanwhile, 1,892 new voters have been added to Dadeldhura. The number of new voters has increased since the Election Commission called on people who have completed the age of 16 and have acquired citizenship to register since last Asoj 10.
According to Karunakar Awasthi, head of the District Election Office, out of the new registrations, 1,272 people have applied for voter ID cards by filling in their details through the online system. Similarly, the names of 620 people, including 389 men and 231 women, have been registered based on biometric details.
