Since February 2080, the situation of Dolpa has changed since long-distance day and night buses started directly from Dolpa to Nepalgunj and Surkhet. And it has changed, the compulsion of common people to have to give up in many places for air tickets .

Under the 118 km long Bheri Corridor from Pasa Gard in Jajarkot to Dunai, a direct bus service was started to Dolpa after the construction of the Belybridge bridge at Talnubagar, Karopgaard, Khadang, Tripurakot, Rupgaard. Now passenger buses directly reach Dolpa from Kathmandu, Nepalgunj, Surkhet. Its direct impact has started to affect the airline.

After the bus service has started, Jufal Airport has started to look deserted. Durgaprasad Devkota of Tripurasundari Municipality-1 said that it is easier for Dolpavasi to travel by bus than waiting for a plane. Now two buses leave for Nepalgunj and one bus for Kathmandu daily from Dolpa. The bus to Kathmandu goes from Dolpa via Jajarkot, Rukum East, Baglung, Pokhara, while the bus to Nepalgunj goes via Rukum, Jajarkot, Salyan and Surkhet.

'Until a year ago, you had to use a lot of power to get a plane ticket . Now the situation is exactly the opposite,' said Devkota, 'After the road facility is reached, people travel by bus.' According to Bhupi Rai, supervisor of Tara Airlines Nepalgunj office, regular flights have been reduced after they stopped getting passengers and cargo items for Dolpa. At one time there were up to three flights in one day, but now there are no passengers even if the flight is scheduled for one day a week. Even an empty plane cannot be flown.'

Chandra Shahi, the head of Tara Airlines Jufal, said that it is difficult to get passengers from Dolpa as the fares are cheap and can carry as much luggage. "The fare of the flight from Dolpa to Nepalgunj is 6,700, and you have to pay 4500 per kilogram of luggage, but you can reach Nepalgunj-Surkhet by bus for half the cost of the flight." Amit Chaurasia, head of Jufal office of Civil Aviation Authority, said that although the airlines keep weekly flight schedule, it is not the people who are reducing the number of flights.

Joint Transport Committee Dolpa Tripurakot counter-in-charge Hari Kulal says that the passenger bus to Dolpa is packed every day . A bus taken in the morning reaches Nepalgunj in the evening, after paying a fare of five thousand, you can reach Kathmandu in one day. That's why the bus has become the choice of many people.'
