Speaker of Lumbini Province Tularam Ghartimagar has said that serious questions have been raised about federalism and provincial structure. Arriving in Rolpa on Saturday, he claimed that in a press conference organized by the Federation of Journalists, questions were raised about federalism, the state and the local level. He was elected as a member of the Lumbini State Assembly from Palpa.
"After entering into the structure of federalism, questions were raised about the provincial government and the provincial assembly in various ways, and in some cases they were opposed," he said, "We have to explain the rationale about the structure of the province and federalism." He came to Rolpa to inform the public about the provincial government and the provincial assembly and to closely monitor development activities.
He urged people to be positive when the opinion on federalism is being published for and against. He argued that the local level is closest to the state in terms of facilities and services. He said that the people's representatives including the heads of the local level and ward presidents can go to people's homes and provide access and services to the state. He said that during the 7 years since the establishment of the local and state structures, the lack of staff at the state and local levels had an impact on the development plan.
