Sunkoshi rural municipality has just completed the village assembly while the local levels across the district have presented their plans for the upcoming financial year on time.
The sixth village assembly, which has been postponed several times due to the lack of quorum, was completed on Tuesday. According to village head Tapindra Timilsina, the village meeting was called on June 29 based on everyone's agreement and discussion. "But it has been completed today, even if not on a fixed date," he said.
Finally, the rural municipality succeeded in holding the village meeting on that date and presented a budget equal to 555.58 million rupees for the financial year 2082/83. Earlier, eight rural municipalities, including three municipalities, completed the village assembly on time and passed the program and budget. However, the sixth village assembly was delayed due to the lack of quorum in Sunkoshi.
There has been concern from the citizens that the development plans will be affected due to the delay in the annual program and budget preparation of the local level. Now Sunkoshi Rural Municipality has said that it will proceed with the implementation of the plan according to the approved budget.
