A 5-bed state-of-the-art basic hospital was inaugurated on Saturday in Sabhapokhari Rural Municipality of Sankhuwasabha.
District Coordination Committee Chief Suman Shakya and Rural Municipality Chairman Bhim Singha Limbu inaugurated the hospital on Saturday. A skilled health team including doctors will provide services in the newly constructed hospital. The hospital has post-mortem services, labs, pharmacies and other services. Chairman Limbu said that more technology-friendly services including X-ray and video X-ray will be expanded in the near future.
The hospital building, built at a cost of Rs 69.78 million, is expected to reduce the need for locals to travel long distances for treatment.
According to Chief Administrative Officer Buku Prasad Acharya, treatment services were being provided through 7 health service centers in Sabhapokhari so far. He said that the health infrastructure of the rural municipality has become stronger with the new hospital coming into operation.
