In the local level performance evaluation conducted by the National Natural Resources and Finance Commission under the federal government, Meringden Rural Municipality has emerged as the best out of nine in Taplejung. Merringden was the best by getting 69.14 points.

Sidingwa is the weakest in the district which has one municipality and eight rural villages. He scored 45.72 marks .

Pathibhara Yangwarak is second with 67.65 points, Maivakhola is third with 64.62. Last year, Maivakhola rural municipality became the best in Koshi province. While Atharai Triveni got 58.67 points, Phatkanglung got 58.60 points, the only Fungling Municipality of the district got 56.96 points . Overall, the municipality is in sixth place in the district.
