Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the Russian government has been informed that the recruitment of Nepalis in the Russian army is illegal and a 'no objection letter' is mandatory when going to Russia.

Responding to important issues raised in Parliament today, Prime Minister Dahal clarified that diplomatic pressure has been increased not to recruit Nepali citizens in the Russian army and to return those who have been recruited to Nepal.

Prime Minister Dahal informed that he is communicating with the officials of the respective countries regarding repatriation of the bodies of Nepalese citizens who joined the Russian army and died, providing compensation to the families of the deceased and the injured, and repatriating the citizens held hostage by the Ukrainian army.

"Recently, the Russian government has agreed to deposit the compensation and insurance amount in the account of the Nepalese embassy and provide it to the victim's family through the consular service department," Prime Minister Dahal said, "No objection letter should be issued to citizens who travel to Russia except for study scholarships and professional business." It has been made mandatory.'
