In its annual program, Apple has released its latest products including various models of iPhone 16, Apple Watch, Airpod, iPad, and new models of MacBook. The company also presented a glimpse of how its artificial intelligence (AI) technology 'Apple Intelligence' works in new and some old products including the iPhone 16.
In an event named 'It's Glotime' held at the Apple headquarters in California on Monday evening, the company informed about the improvements and updates made to its Apple Watch and AirPods. Apple has announced software updates to make it easier and more accessible, especially for the hearing impaired.
As the first product to include Apple intelligence technology, the company has released iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max under the iPhone 16 series. It has been made public . However, the company had already announced this technology at its Worldwide Developers Conference held last June. "AI and machine learning technologies have played a significant role in providing many of the features and experiences we love today," company CEO Tim Cook said at Monday's event. ;
iPhone 16 models include the A18 Pro chip. It features second-generation 3-nanometer transistors and a new 16-core neural engine for Apple Intelligence. It is specially designed for generative AI purposes which the company says increases the device's system memory bandwidth by 17 percent. The company has informed that the iPhone 16 has a 48-megapixel 'Fusion Camera' and telephoto facility, and can shoot 4K video at 120 frames per second.
Similarly, the Pro models have added recording studio-quality voice recording. Not only this, the 'Audio Mix' feature has been kept and the company has claimed that it is the first such feature to be introduced in the entire smartphone industry. The company mentions that with the help of machine learning technology, the speaker and the background sound can be distinguished in the voice recording app. In the Voice Memo app, which is expected to be released by the end of this year, it is said that the 'Track Layer' feature will allow musicians, podcasters, etc. to easily mix audio.
iPhone 16 is priced at $799, iPhone 16 Plus at $899, The iPhone 16 Pro starts at $999 and the Pro Max starts at $1,199. The company said that advance orders can be placed from Friday. The Apple Intelligence feature, which is said to be available on the iPhone 16, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone Pro Max, is currently only in beta version and will be available only from next month. It is claimed to usher in a new era for the iPhone's digital voice assistant Siri.
