The 'Dream Team' became the champion in the 23rd edition of the Gorkha Cup held at the Queen's Avenue Sports Field in Aldershot, UK.

 

According to Nepali time, in the tie-breaker after the final match, Dream team defeated Guruji Elliott team by 4-2 goals.

Extra time was played after a 1-1 draw at the scheduled time. After no goals in extra time, the game went to a tiebreaker. The Nepal Dream Team, which shined in the penalty shootout, won the main team title under the Gorkha Cup and received 3,000 pounds, a trophy and a certificate. The runner-up Guruji Elliot team received 1,800 pounds, a trophy and a certificate.

Nepal Dream Team's Shakthim Chemjong was declared the best manager for the main team. Ishwar Gurung of Nepal Dream won the title of best player. Guruji Eliot's Robel Nalbo got the top scorer title.

Himalayan FC became the winner towards veterans and managed to get 1500 pounds in cash, trophy and certificate. The runner-up Intake 2000 received £1,000, a trophy and a certificate. In the final, Himalayan FC Vetran won by a wide margin of 4-0 goals.

Himalayan FC's Kumar Thapa became the best manager towards veterans. Himalayan FC's highest scorer Dr. Sandeep Gurung. Himalayan FC's Khum Gurung won the Best Player award.

On the women's side, Rander Bolts FC beat Tamang Samaj UK by a wide margin of 3-0 to become the winners. Rounder Bolts received £600, a trophy and a certificate. The runner-up, Tamang Samaj, received 400 pounds, a trophy and a certificate. Garima Rai won the best player title for women.

This year, 50 teams including 32 men, 16 veterans and 2 women participated in the Gorkha Cup. The title of 'Football Legend of Gorkha Cup' has been awarded to Lokprasad Chemjong Dhankute. Organizer Tamu Dhee has given this title for the first time.

Winners and runners-up were presented with prizes by Tamu Dhi UK President Jumkaji Gurung, Nepali Ambassador to the UK Chandrakumar Ghimire, Rushmore Borough Council Mayor Calon Stewart, area MP Alex Baker, footballer Savitra Bhandari and sponsors.
