German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier was presented with the certificate of status by Nepali Ambassador Shail Rupakheti in a special ceremony held at Schloss Bellevue on Wednesday.
Along with the presentation of the certificate, there was a courtesy meeting between the German President and Ambassador Rupakheti. According to the embassy in Germany, during the meeting, Rupakheti conveyed the messages of President Ramchandra Poudel and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to President Steinmeier. Rupakheti expressed his commitment to further expand bilateral relations between the two countries.
Responding to the inquiry of the German President, Rupakheti informed about the current political development of Nepal, geopolitics, and the priorities of the Nepalese government. He thanked the German government for its continuous support to Nepal for sustainable and inclusive socio-economic transformation.
The German President praised the excellent relations between Nepal and Germany, according to the Nepali Embassy in Germany. Before Ambassador Rupakheti, the President also recalled the bilateral meeting he had with the President of Nepal Ramchandra Poudel on June 17, 2024 at Sloss Bellevue. During the meeting, Ambassador Rupakheti gave an official invitation to the President to visit Nepal and the President expressed his thanks for that. High officials of the German government were also present at the
ceremony. Rupakheti was accompanied by his wife Indira Paudyal and Chuman Singh KC, third secretary of the Nepal Embassy.
