Under the Mahendra Highway, the highway has been opened in one direction by constructing a diversion in Binayi river at Dumkibas. The diversion that was swept away by the flood two days ago was constructed on Wednesday afternoon and the traffic was operated.
DSP Madhu Nepal, information officer of the district police informed that the traffic has been operating there since 5:30 on Wednesday. Even on Wednesday, 10 diversions have been constructed in Binayi River. Nine diversions built earlier were swept away by the flood. After construction of
diversion, it has become easier to send trucks and lorries stopped in the 50 km area from Gaindakot to Dumkibas area to their destination. Every evening from 7:00 to 5:00 the next morning, the police do not allow vehicles to drive there because they are repairing the road.
After the iron bridge of Binayi Khola broke on 26th of January last year, traffic has been operated by making a diversion there. There is still a risk of flooding the diversion.
