The Nepal-India Energy Secretary-level Joint Steering Committee (JSC) and the Energy Joint Secretary-level Joint Working Group (JWG) meetings will be held in Pokhara on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The meeting will discuss the transmission lines between Nepal and India. The meeting will discuss the transmission lines that have come into operation, are under construction and are proposed, said Energy Ministry Spokesperson Sandeep Dev.
Along with the transmission lines, electricity trade will also be discussed. The ministry has stated that the meeting will discuss issues such as additional electricity trade and approvals in India, as well as India's approval required to sell an additional 20 megawatts of electricity to Bangladesh.
The two sides will discuss issues such as projects with Indian investment and alternative energy. It is also said that discussions will be held on possible cooperation between the two sides in the future.
According to the Nepal-India Electricity Trade Agreement concluded in 2014, a Secretary-level (JSC) and Joint Secretary-level Working Group (JWG) have been formed to facilitate, guide and monitor the implementation side. There is a provision to hold meetings every 6 months. A Joint Secretary-level meeting was held on 18th Poush 2080 and a Energy Secretary-level meeting was held on 20th Poush in Chitwan. Then, it was held on 9th and 29th Magh 2081 in New Delhi. Since then, the meeting could not be held due to lack of agreement between the two sides.
