Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Khadak Raj Poudel has said that the government's goal is to develop the Korala road under the Kaligandaki Corridor as a tourist highway.

At a discussion on the development and promotion of Mustang's tourism sector organized by the District Administration Office here today, he outlined the government's plan to quickly upgrade the road from Bhairahawa in the south to Korala in the north under the Kaligandaki Corridor and turn it into a tourist highway.

Stating that the Korala highway will be established as a tourist highway as the main basis of economic prosperity is the tourism sector, he informed that the government has also given high priority to the Mustang-Dolpa road.

Minister Poudel suggested that the problem of tourists falling ill due to fever in the Muktinath region is becoming more complex and that the concerned bodies should implement a tourist 'time card' to solve it.
