According to international news agencies, he became a trillionaire after the initial public offering (IPO) of rocket company SpaceX on Thursday. With this, Musk's net worth has reached more than $1.1 trillion.
Musk's main assets are his shares in SpaceX and Tesla. SpaceX raised the most through the IPO, $75 billion. According to Reuters, Musk's shares in SpaceX alone are worth about $866 billion. This surge in his wealth has occurred since trading began on June 12, 2026 in the US market.
According to CNN news, Musk's wealth is more than the combined wealth of the other four richest people in the world. Larry Page, who is in second place, has only about a third of Musk's wealth. Even more interestingly, Musk's wealth is larger than the combined economies of many countries, including Taiwan, Sweden and his native South Africa. In fact, there are only 23 countries with economies worth more than $1 trillion.
Reuters has reported that investors have shown great confidence in Musk. Market analysts have dubbed this the 'Elon Premium' or 'Musknomy'.
