Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle has said that there is no truth in the propaganda that there was an information leak and irregularities before the budget was presented in Parliament.
Responding to the main provisions of the revenue and expenditure estimate (budget) for the fiscal year 2083/84 in today's meeting of the Finance Committee of the House of Representatives, he clarified that the accusations made against him that BYD vehicles were introduced on Jestha 14 due to information leak regarding the proposed tax rates are baseless.
Stating that rumors were being spread against him in an organized manner, Minister Wagle clarified that the amendments were made because a few points included in the budget statement were left out in the financial bill. He said that unnecessary discussions were being made without facts and evidence with the wrong intention of making the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister controversial.
'After correcting the errors seen and placing the bill in the hands of the sovereign MPs, no changes have been made.' "They have systematically spread rumors about the budget and me by obstructing the House of Representatives, and they have tried to defame me," said Finance Minister Wagle. "MPs should not be misled by the attacks that they can tarnish the image of the government, which has been moving relentlessly for good governance, by spreading such mud."
