'Merokitta' mobile app launched, now land-related services can be availed from home

'Merokitta' mobile app launched, now land-related services can be availed from home

The Survey Department has launched the ‘Merokitta’ mobile app. The app was launched in the presence of Minister for Land Management, Cooperative Federal Affairs and General Administration Pratibha Rawal. The Survey Department has stated that citizens can get land-related services from home through the app. According to the department, the app is available on both Android and iOS platforms and can be downloaded from the Play Store and App Store.

Through the app, online applications can be made for map printing, field book download, plot register download and field drawing. After registering the application, an OTP will be available from the system and the service recipient will be able to check the status of their application regularly using their mobile number and OTP.

Similarly, the app also includes a facility to pay revenue through e-Seva, Khalti and Connect IPS. The Survey Department has stated that the revenue required for field drawing services can also be paid online. The contact number of the office chief and information officer of the concerned survey office can also be obtained through the

app. The department has stated that the ‘Merokitta’ service is available in the web version along with the mobile app.

Minister Pratibha Rawal said that expanding citizens' access to public services through the use of information technology is the government's priority. She stated that the obligation for service recipients to visit offices to obtain land-related services is gradually coming to an end and expressed confidence that the 'Merokitta' app will make service delivery more convenient, faster, transparent and effective. 

Minister Rawal also expressed her commitment to further expand such technology-friendly services to strengthen digital good governance.
