The Department of Foreign Employment has decided to issue a re-labor permit through an automated system (self-service) if workers who have already obtained a labor permit for foreign employment want to continue working in the company they are working for. With the department's decision, additional approval from employees is no longer required to issue a re-labor permit, as was previously the case.

According to a statement issued by the department on Monday, the department has decided to completely automate the process of granting re-labor permits with the aim of making foreign employment safe, dignified and systematic. At least 20,000 workers are obtaining re-labor permits every month. 'If people who have gone for foreign employment with a labor permit apply for a re-labor permit for the same country and the same company, the labor permit will be granted through an automated system if certain conditions are met,' the notice states.

To apply for re-labor permits, the workers must have a passport with a validity of at least 3 months, a valid visa, a contract agreement, a receipt for depositing money in the Social Security Fund, a receipt for depositing money in the Foreign Employment Welfare Fund, and periodic life insurance.

The department has implemented the ministerial decision of Jestha 30.
