Transport entrepreneurs have said that to improve Nepal's public transport sector, passengers should be served sweet language and clean food.
At a program organized by Nepal Micro and Bus Company Pvt. Ltd. in Kathmandu on Saturday in honor of the elected working committee at the seventh general convention held in Pokhara from April 27 to 30, entrepreneurs said that Nepal's public sector will improve through habits and behavior.
At the program, outgoing president of the Federation, Bijay Bahadur Swar, said that many reform works have been carried out in Nepal's public sector during his four-year tenure. 'After being unanimously elected as the president by the Godavari general convention, I received everyone's support and love to take the federation to greater heights,' he said.
He said that the future transport sector should focus on 'sweet language' and 'sweet food.' 'We have invested crores, buying a vehicle costs up to one and a half crore rupees, but we are still seen only as 'drivers', now we have to become entrepreneurs in the true sense,' he said.
The newly elected president of the Federation, Punya Prasad (Saroj) Sitaula, said that his leadership will leave no stone unturned to make the country's entire transport sector organized and dignified. He mentioned that work will be done in coordination with the government for accident reduction and technology-friendly transport. President Sitaula said that Nepal's transport sector has now entered the modern era.
President Sitaula mentioned that he will work hard to advance public transport, which has invested 1.3 trillion and provided employment to more than 500,000 people.
Senior Vice President of the Federation, Kedar Prasad Poudel, General Secretary Deknath Gautam, Treasurer Rajendra Acharya and others emphasized that Nepal's public transport sector should be made dignified, modern and technology-friendly. They said that the old trends in the transport sector should be abandoned and services should be provided in the 21st century.
Nawaraj Acharya, Director of Nepal Micro and Bus Company Pvt. Ltd., expressed confidence that the newly elected working committee will play an important role in advancing Nepal's public transport, which is in a state of collapse. On the same occasion, the outgoing president of the federation, Swar, and the newly elected president, Sitaula, were honored by being presented with dosallas.
