Following government directives, directors of government banks have started resigning.

According to a Finance Ministry source, most of the directors of Rastriya Banijya Bank and Krishi Bikas Bank have already resigned by 2 pm on Thursday, and information has been received that directors will also resign from Nepal Bank.

Following the government's directive, the directors of three state-owned banks, Rastriya Banijya Bank, Nepal Bank and Krishi Bikas Bank, have resigned in droves. A Finance Ministry source said that the resignations have started coming from the directors, asking them to leave their posts and pave the way for the government. A director said that the government has sent a clear message to the directors of all three banks by Wednesday evening. Directors of government-owned banks should resign from the Finance Ministry's Financial Coordination Division.

By 2 pm on Thursday, most of the directors of Rastriya Banijya Bank and Krishi Bikas Bank had already resigned, and information has been received from Nepal Bank that directors will also resign, according to a Finance Ministry source.

Joint secretaries from the Finance Ministry have also been representing the board of directors of all three government-owned banks. Among them, Than Prasad Pangeni, a director of Rastriya Banijya Bank, has retired. Joint Secretary Mahesh Bhattarai, who is the director of Nepal Bank, has been transferred to Hetauda and Agricultural Development Bank director Sevantak Pokharel has been transferred to Janakpur.

Dev Kumar Dhakal was appointed as the chairman of Rastriya Banijya Bank, Dim Prasad Poudel as the chairman of Agricultural Development Bank, and Dilli Raj Sharma as the chairman of Nepal Bank by the previous government.
