21 people have applied for the post of Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal. 21 people have applied in the call for the selection of the Director General through open competition.

Similarly, 27 people have applied for the post of Board of Directors member (5 people) of Nepal Airlines Corporation. The notice states that preference will be given to people with experience in the fields of commerce, finance, accounting, aviation or tourism promotion for appointment to the board of the corporation.

Now the Ministry of Tourism has stated that it will proceed with the evaluation process based on the prescribed criteria. The ministry had called for applications from qualified and experienced people for the selection of high leadership through a notice published on 12 Baisakh.

According to the notice, to become the Director General, one must be a Nepali citizen and not have a foreign permanent residence permit. In addition, there was a provision to mandatorily submit educational qualifications, professional experience, biodata, copy of citizenship certificate and a business plan of at least 3,000 words.

It is stated that after the initial evaluation, the shortlisted candidates will be selected on the basis of presentation and interview.

Similarly, the notice for Nepal Airlines Corporation was also made public on 12 Baisakh. The 7-day notice specified criteria such as expertise or experience in the fields of commerce, finance or aviation to be a member.
