The one-way slope has been completed in the eastern part of the Daunne road section under the under-construction Mahendra Highway.
The 3.9-kilometer road section in the eastern section between Dumkibas and Bardaghat is complete. The one-way road slope work in the eastern section was completed on Thursday. Traffic will be able to operate on this road after two weeks.
The contractor has been expanding the road by dividing this 114-kilometer-long road into two sections (east and west). The Chinese contractor company China State Engineering Corporation, which has been working on the road construction, has been dividing the road into 65 kilometers in the eastern section and 49 kilometers in the western section.
Most of the construction work on both sides and in some places, one-way road construction has been completed in this section.
Out of the 10 kilometers of road in the western section of Daunne, 200 meters of the road have not been completed. The remaining 200 meters of road will be sloped in the next 15 days, informed Pashupati Gyawali, the head of that section.
It is said that traffic can be operated in Daunne before the upcoming Ashar. Daunne road is 3-lane. Of the 14 kilometers of Daunne road, sloped roads are being constructed in most of the places where water seeps.
The deadline for completing the final work of the Butwal-Narayangadh road construction is ending in the first week of the upcoming Shrawan.
As of Friday, 85 percent of the construction work of the Mahendra Highway has been completed.
