Sharan Pandey, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, has been given the responsibility of General Manager at the Dairy Development Corporation (DDC). Pandey reached the DDC on Thursday afternoon and assumed office.
Agriculture Minister Geeta Chaudhary made a ministerial decision on Tuesday and gave Pandey the responsibility of General Manager. Pandey is also the head of the Ministry's Livestock and Fisheries Development Division. DDC is responsible for paying Rs 500 million in arrears for purchasing milk from farmers.
General Manager Pandey has said that he will work by keeping the payment of the arrears as his first priority. 'My main task will be to expand the sales center and improve its condition and end the leakage within the organization,' he said.
Dr. Pandey, who has previously worked as the Agriculture Secretary in various provinces, is known as an experienced and technically knowledgeable administrator in the livestock sector.
